Whether you're a beginner or a conservatory graduate looking for a new perspective, I welcome viola da gamba and chamber music students of all ability levels. Teaching is a vital part of my own intellectual and artistic process, illuminating my own work as I help other musicians discover, develop, and refine their own voice. Development of independent musicianship is center to my teaching philosophy, along with strong focuses on technique, mindful practice and body awareness, as well as a practical eye on historic primary source materials. The viola da gamba is a living, dynamic artistic medium - not a museum piece - and I look forward to working with you as you add your voice to the ongoing rebirth of the viol.
